Wire
Needle Nose Pliers
Ruler
Hot Glue Gun

How to Make Wire Spider - Step 1
Step 1:
Cut one strip of wire for the spider’s body (8” for large spider or 3” for small spider) and eight strips of wire for the legs (2” for large spider or 1” for small spider).

Step 2:
Coil the long wire strip as tightly as possible, forming a disc-shaped body. Hint: use the pliers to start the coil and to finish it.

Step 3:
To form the legs, pinch each wire strip 2/3 of the way up and then bend the wire strip in half. Bend the end of the short side back up. This is the part that will be glued to the body. Give the end of the long side a slight bend, forming the spider’s foot. Repeat with all eight legs.

Step 4:
Divide the legs into two groups of four. Hold one group of legs between your thumb and finger, with the short side pointing up and all of the legs facing the same direction. Put a ball of glue on the top end of the legs and attach them under one side of the spider’s body. Quickly adjust legs to desired position before glue dries. Repeat with other group of legs, attaching them opposite the first group. Allow the glue to set for a few seconds before going onto the next step.

Step 5:
Turn the spider upside down and put a large ball of glue where the legs attach to the body. This will hold the legs in place. Make final adjustments to the legs quickly. Allow to fully dry before moving.
